Purpose

This industry requires hours of practice in the field and thorough knowledge of crane operation, repairs, safety, and inspection. Therefore, American Equipment proudly offers crane operator training services, testing, and certification. We provide extensive crane training courses that cover all the necessary objectives and are constantly being improved to match the industry’s best practices. Our crane operator course list includes options for both overhead and mobile crane operation. All our trainers are IHSM and NCCCO certified crane operators with extensive field experience. They bring their real-world experience into the classroom, providing a better learning environment for students.

Courses are available as full-day or half-day training sessions, with an average class size of 10. You can use your own facilities or train at any American Equipment location. The cost for the course is $150 per person.

Course Content

• Regulations and Standards: Law No. 1 Year 1970 concerning Work Safety, Minister of Manpower Regulation No. 05/1985 (Lift & Transport), and Regulation No. 09/2010 (Operators).
• Technical Knowledge:
  • Crane components, mechanisms, and hydraulic systems.
  • Motor drives, electricity, and safety devices (limit switches, load moment indicators).
  • Wire rope, slings, and rigging gear inspection.
• Operational Skills:
  • Pre-use inspection and maintenance.
  • Safe load calculation, interpreting load charts, and working load limits (WLL).
  • Operating techniques (lifting, lowering, swinging).
  • Coordination with riggers and signalmen.
• Safety and Hazards:
  • Hazard identification, stability, and accident prevention.
  • Specific procedures for blind lifts or working in confined spaces.
• Evaluation: Theoretical exam and practical demonstration.

Evaluation

All participants have to complete a questionnaire in order to obtain the certificate.

Certification – Diploma

All persons who successfully complete the course based on the performance standards will receive certificate with five years validity in line with Offshore International Industries guidelines. This Training follows international standards of quality and meets the USCG, NCCCO and ISO 9001-2015 requirements.
